Anti-Flag and Atticus organizing a clothing drive for UK shows

Pittsburgh, PA's Anti-Flag have teamed up with Atticus clothing to organize a clothing drive for Project Emmaus in the London and Colchester area. The drive coincides with two shows that the band will be playing on the 18th and 19th. The clothing drive will benefit homeless people in the area, and there will be stands set up at each show for attendees to donate clean clothing.

Everyone who donates will get a download card for three acoustic Anti-Flag songs. Says Chris No. 2:

Anytime we can actually give back to the city and community we're playing, it is huge for us. It's not up to one song or one band to have an impact on this world. We will be in Colchester and London for one day, and the people coming to the shows live there and it is their towns, their scene. Were just providing an opportunity to impact some people who live nearby who are less fortunate. Bring an article of clothing to the shows, your donation will be greatly appreciated. Atticus UK who we have met on various occasions were amazing enough to help out as by donating clothing to Project Emmaus, who have a local shelters in both Colchester and the greater London area. So if you're coming to the show in Colchester or the Kerrang show in London at ULU, please bring an article of clothing for the Project Emmaus Shelter. The show will be a tremendous amount of fun and tremendous show of humanity, we are greatly looking forward to it.

The band is busy touring supporting this year's release, The Bright Lights of America.

Below is the tracklisting of the available download.

1) Tar and Sagebrush (alternative version)
2) This Song Will Not Be Used For Political Gain... Even After We're Dead (previously unreleased)
3) Tanzania (rare song)

The Matches find a new bassist

Our New Bassist

We have a bassist. His name is Dylan Rowe. For a proper introduction, he stood on guitar cab casters while I filmed him spinning 360 degrees, arms outstretched. My camera is in the trunk, so for the time being, please let the mental image suffice. He was wearing a black and red striped shirt. It was 72 degrees outside. His Fender p-bass is 17 years older than him. We met him 5 years ago in Nashville where he's from. He's back there now, gathering all that he will need to live on tour for the next 6 months. We think he rules. You will too.

The Swellers will write you a personalized song! Like Say Anything

Hey guys,

Max from Say Anything is doing this thing where he'll write you a personalized song about a problem you're facing. You send him 2 paragraphs detailing your predicament, pay him $150, and you get your very own acoustic song.

We like this idea, so we're copying it. Except we're not promising that it'll be any good, so we'll do it for free. Send us a 2 paragraph explanation about a problem you're facing and we'll pick a bunch and get them out within the week.

We don't mean this as disrespect toward Max and Say Anything.. those dudes rule. We're just bored and don't mind staying poor from our music. At least for now.

Oh and we'll try to make it sound like Say Anything, too. So you don't feel ripped off.**

-Nick and The Swellers

**EDIT: The majority of the songs we create probably won't sound like Say Anything. Unless you want us to really try.

My Chemical Romance to cover Bob Dylan

My Chemical Romance is going to cover Bob Dylan's "Desolation Row" as a close for the film adaptation of "Watchmen".

The director, Zack Snyder, said "(Gerard Way, MCR frontman) is a super-great guy, and an awesome musician, and so we're trying to work with them right now to put together a song for the end titles," also adding "I've talked with [Way] and I've heard a little bit of some stuff that's he's done and it's pretty freaking cool."

Snyder says that Gerard approached him: "Just as a fan, to say like: 'I hope the movie's cool.' And then we went, 'Hey, maybe we can do something.'."

Matches' bassist, Justin San Souci, leaving band

From their Myspace blog:

It disarranges us to relay that our long-time bassist and friend, Justin San Souci, will be parting from the role of bassist in the Matches to pursue other lives and loves. He, however, will not be parting from the role of friend. Change is not an easy thing, but it does not stop until life does. Our hearts go out to Justin for being brave and true to his heart's pursuit.

Lily Allen might stop singing?

British singer Lily Allen has announced that if her second album "Stuck on the Naughty Step" is a flop, then she plans to give up singing.

She says that "I left school at 15. I'm not a genius songwriter. I don't think I'm really good at anything. I'm really scared about what people are going to say. I don't know why. Some people will like it and some won't. If people hate it, then I'll just try something else."

Giving up singing doesn't necessarily mean leaving the music industry for good, however. She has said "I'd really like to do A+R at a record company."
